عالية غانم الحميري أم، وجدة ورائدة في التعليم الابتدائي والتعليم الخاص في المنطقة. بعد تخرجها من جامعة الإمارات في العين، أمضت 25+ سنة في وزارة العمل حينما ركزت على التعليم لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة. ثم انتقلت إلى إدارة سلسلة من الحضانات، حضانة النحلة الصغيرة. بدأ المجتمع الأوسع الدعوة لها، "ماما لياه". انها ايضا نشأت مركز أبو ظبي لللاغة والاضطرابات، الذي كان أول مركز في دولة الإمارات تركز على اللغة العربية والانجليزية للأفراد ذوي الاحتياجات التعليمية الخاصة. انها رائدة في فكرة التدخل المبكر ودمج الأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في المؤسسات التعليمية القياسية في المنطقة. انها تركز الآن على أسرتها وأحفادها وتمضي وقتها باستكشاف العالم
Alyah Ghanim Al Hamiry is a mother, grandmother and leader in the primary education and special education space in the region. After graduating in one of the first batches of UAE University, Alyah spent 25+ years in the Ministry of Labor focusing primarily on those with special learning requirements. She then moved on to rolling out a nursery chain, Little Bee Nursery, that showed exponential growth in the first year in Abu Dhabi. The community instantly dubbed her, “Mama Liyah”. She also set up the Abu Dhabi Centre for Language & Speech Disorders, the UAE’s first bilingual centre for individuals with special learning requirements. She pioneered the idea of early intervention and integration of children with special needs into mainstream educational institutions in the region. Mama Liyah now focuses her time on her family and grandchildren and explores the world.
